Stephen Liechty

 

Stephen E. Liechty, 70, of La­Grange, IN died at Parkview Regional Medical Center on April 24, 2024.

Mr. Liechty was born on June 12, 1953, in Hartford City, IN to James E. and Nancy Ann (Oswalt) Liechty.

Living in the LaGrange area since 1964, he was a salesman for 35 years for Targgart Office Supplies in Wolcottville, IN and then worked for Insurance Market Place in LaGrange.

Steve was very active in the Democratic Party and was the Democratic Party Chair for LaGrange County. He had also served for several years on the LaGrange Alcohol Board.

On July 9, 1977, in Au­burn, IN he married Mary Ann Beuret; Mrs. Liechty survives in LaGrange, IN.

Also surviving is his father, James E. Liechty of Fort Wayne, IN; his chil­dren, Alec Liechty of La­Grange, IN and Meredith (Brock) Moliere of San Antonio, TX; three broth­ers, Mike Liechty of Sara­sota, FL, David Liechty of Chicago, IL, and Phil Liechty of Churubus­co, IN; three step-broth­ers, Scott Timmis of Fort Wayne, IN, Steve Timmis of LaGrange, IN, and Tim (Ingrid) Timmis of League City, TX.

Preceding him in death were his mother and step­father, Nancy Ann and Larry Timmis.

Celebration of Life will take place on May 4, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at Linder’s Tavern on Main, 211 S. Detroit St., LaGrange, IN.

Burial will take place privately at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN.
