Dates to know for the May 7 Primary Election


As we gear up for the May 7 Primary Election, here are some important dates to know:

Public Test:

The Public Test of Election Equipment will be conducted on March 25, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the voter reg­istration office located on the first floor of the LaGrange County Court­house at 105 N. Detroit St., LaGrange, IN 46761.

Absentee Voting:

Absentee voting, at the LaGrange County Courthouse at 105 N. Detroit St., LaGrange, IN 46761, begins Tuesday April 9, 2024, and goes through Monday May 6, 2024, at noon. The hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 27, and Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Voter Registration:

LaGrange County Clerk Kimberley John­son wants to remind vot­ers to check their voter registrations.

Go online to indi­anavoters.com and check your registration infor­mation. Be sure you are registered at your current address. Inactive regis­trations may have been cancelled.

Voter registration closes April 8, 2024, for the Primary Election and reopens May 21, 2024.

The Primary Election is on May 7, 2024

Be sure to check your Indiana Driver’s License or ID Card. If they are expired, they may still be used if they expired after November 8, 2022. If expired before that date, the driver’s license or ID card must be re­newed to be able to use for voting.
