Indiana Depart­ment of Trans­portation has begun a major overhaul of SR 5 through Ship­shewana. The project has been anticipated for years. The town opted to add side­walks along SR 5 as part of current construction. The work is ex­pected to contin­ue throughout the year. Town Manager Terry Martin said ev­erything is go­ing according to plans so far.
