Westview raised its NECC boys basketball record to 4-0 last Friday night in Emma with a 69-53 thrashing of Angola.
After a slow start which saw the Warriors emerge from the first period holding a 9-6 lead, the hosts exploded for 32 points in the second frame to push their advantage to 17 (41-24) by halftime. Kaden Grau netted 12 of his game-high 32 points to fuel the Westview scoring flurry. Austin Schlabach chipped in seven points and Pierce Yoder added a couple of three-pointers to the run.
Schlabach finished the tilt with 19 markers. Pierce Yoder had six, Daniel Yoder and Kaine Reinhold four apiece, Brett Springer three and Bryce Yoder one.
Ben Thomas, Ryan Stuckey and Niles Knox all knocked down nine points to pace the Hornets. Tyler Ruple sank seven.
Westview now stands 7-1 headed into the Christmas break. The Warriors will next take to the court December 30 at home against Leo.
