Tragic crash claims lives in Howe



On November 3, 2025, at approximately 12:10 a.m., authorities from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic accident on State Road 120, near 325 East in Howe.

According to preliminary reports, a vehicle traveling eastbound on State Road 120 veered off the roadway for reasons still under investigation and collided with a tree. Unfortunately, the driver and one passenger sustained critical injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger was subsequently airlifted to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital by Lutheran Air for urgent medical care.

Initial findings suggest that both alcohol consumption and excessive speed may have contributed to the crash. Investigators are currently working to identify the occupants of the vehicle, and further details will be provided as they become available.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, with assistance from the LaGrange Police Department, Howe Fire Rescue, Samaratin Helicopter Paramedic Crew, Parkview EMS, and the Indiana State Police.
