The Ark Animal Rescue and Adoption

Four legs, a lick, and a wag

Molly – A female who is sad because she is at Ark. She is about 1-2 years old. A mix between a great Rotti and maybe Lab. She weighs in at 67 pounds. She does not like cats and little dogs. Only because of her size and strength it would be best if children were 12 or older. Autumn – A female husky with a beautiful speckled coat. She is about 3 years of age and was a stray. She will be your friend when she knows she can trust you. She would need a fenced in yard as she is a husky and will run given a chance. Joy – A female about 5 years old. She has some Shar-Pei in her DNA as she has cute wrinkles on her nose. She knows how to sit, shake and take a treat very carefully. Little Dog – A female cat. Yes cat that is tan and brown. She is about a year old and loves to play. She loves exercising on the big wheel Ark has or the cats. She will be a good pal for you. These dogs along with a total of 85 other hearts of various sizes and personalities are waiting and some have waited a very long time. Call Ark Animal Rescue and Adoption at 260-463-4142 for an appointment to change the life of a shelter animal and yours. Needs at Ark remain: Fabuloso, milk bones and soft treats for dogs. Dear Friends,

The most important thing I have to say this week is thank you to all our veterans. So appreciate all the sacrifices you have had to make. My poof is wagging in your honor. Thank you!

Ark along with me and Ellie went to the primary school to speak with the first graders. Do you know what they did? The kids all sent a thank-you colored in their very own way. A few of the kids wrote on the back of the thank you with things like I like animals because: they are soft, fluffy, happy, and cute, my dogs licks me, they make me happy, and they are fluffy and soft. Check out the picture of all the thank you’s on Ark web site, arkanimalrescue.weebly.com and on face book. Thanks kids, I always enjoy coming and getting all those pets and doing my special trick for you.

I have a confession to make about Halloween. I was at my grandma’s and there were a bunch of people eating supper. I decided to do some investigating. I found a jackpot. A whole package of Reese’s my grandma was going to give to kids when they came to the house. They were right in my reach and because I have such a good nose, it was not hard to find them. I heard my lake mom say “Buddy” what are you into?” I was very quiet and quit chewing. When they began to talk, again, I found the couch and I was hiding my Reese’s peanut butter cup. I thought that was a good idea so I could have a snack when everyone went to bed. Well, my lake mom did not think that was such a good idea and she took it away. Ah, but she did not know where the stash was. I walked back to the stash and just got another one. My mistake was I went into the dining room to eat it. The crackle of the paper gave me away. I got that one take away too. Humm, what to do? I said to myself I‘d just eat my Reese’s cup in another room. So off I went. I found the sack took another treat out. Little did I know my lake mom was watching me this time. I only got a few bites of them. It is probably a good thing as you know they are chocolate and that is not the best for us. The stash was found and I was out of luck.

Here is a chuckle for you: It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking and I saw a little boy staring in at me. “Is that a dog you got back there?” he asked. “It sure is,” I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then toward the back of the van. Finally he said, “What’d he do?”

Your ’fur-ever’ friend,

Buddy
