The Ark Animal Rescue and Adoption

Four legs, a lick, and a wag

Yara – Mostly black mix about 53 pounds. A female about 2 years old. She was a stray looking to have a family. Her tail in non-stop. Bart – A beagle about 2 years old. A male about 25 pounds. He has a beagle nose and is ready for a family. A meet and greet if you have other animals is recommended. Magnolia – A female boxer about 10 years old. A senior that is full of wisdom. Her tail indicates she is always happy but her ears will need someone to love before they too are happy. Her fee is reduced but her wisdom is free. She indicated she wanted a home where she can lay by your chair and be loved. Happy – A very young male in activity yet he is 7 years old. He will need to be walked or have a fenced yard so he can get exercise. He is 44 pounds. Likes to play ball. Please consider adoption from Ark Animal Rescue and Adoption. All animals are fully vetted and come with a ton of extra care and love when adopted. The shelter is over crowded now so it is a great time to adopt. Call 260-463-4142 for an appointment to change the life of a shelter pet as well as your own. Needs at Ark: Salt (call Howe grain they will discount and deliver free.), Milk Bones – all sizes, M and L surgical gloves and Toys for the Christmas in July for the dogs. You can order from Chewy and Amazon or take to Miller’s Super Value, Farmer’s State Bank and Paws and Claws bookstore. Need by July 12.

Dear Friends,

Toy Run! Know about it? All – yep all – the dogs at Ark in July will get by their choice a spiffy new toy for Christmas in July. Just for dogs this time. All the toys will be placed outside in the large run and each of my pals will have their choice of their very own new toy.

How can you help? There are drop-off places at Miller’s Super Value, Farmer’s State Bank, Paws and Claws bookstore and the Chamber in Sturgis. And, you can help by ordering directly from Chewy (I know them well) and Amazon. Join in the fun and make Christmas in July an experience they will not forget. Need the toys by July 12.

$43. Wonder how that fits into my stories? Well you may or may not know there are two pups that I have to share my town mom with now. It is OK except the lap deal. I still want the right side and so do they. So, $43. Yep that is what they found in my town moms money clip. It was a jigsaw puzzle on the floor. Most all the pieces were found and she was able to tape them back together. No pictures were taken because she didn’t want the $43 to turn into more. I never did this sort of thing. I was more adventurous and found pig friends, deer legs and wooly worms. I suspect the day will come when I can teach the pups about all those cool things in the woods. Right now they are on a leash because they have yet to learn to come when called. I wish they would learn!

Here is a good read my town mom found. It is called “Dog Mom.” Out of all the jobs in the world, being a dog mom is the best. When it comes to compatibility, you and I ace the test. You’re there when I go to sleep, you’re there when I wake up. There’s never a dull moment in a life with a pup. Our adventures are epic! We go to the beach and the park. We hike, roll in the grass and play fetch until dark. By the end of our play, my hands are dirty, your paws are muddy. You might be a man’s best friend, but you’re mom’s best buddy. Sometimes you get into trouble, it’s not all game and fun. Raising you takes a little patience, sometimes it takes a ton. Make messes, chew my shoes and steal all my socks. You make up for it in cuteness, snuggles and long walks. When I come home you greet me, it’s the sweetest part of my day. Wag your tail, give me licks and tell me everything’s OK. You get a treat for ticks and for melting our hearts. All the extra snacks might be why you have stinky farts … Even when you snore, slobber and takeover my lap. The proudest hat I wear is my “dog mom” cap. Adopting you was like finding the greatest treasure. The bond between us is a love that will last forever. There’s never a dull moment in a life with a pup. My favorite movie of all time is watching you grow-up. When it comes to compatibility, you and I ace the test. Out of all the jobs in the world, being a dog mom is the best. Author unknown. Your ’fur-ever’ friend,

Buddy
