2022 Corn School Queen contest applications now available

Tri Kappa Sorority is seeking contestants for the 2022 Corn School Queen Contest.

Contestants must be between 15-19 years of age and live in or attend a LaGrange County High School.

Applications are due before September 16 and are limited to the first 15 entries.

Elijah Haven Car Show planned

Join us for an afternoon of music, food, and family fun at the LaGrange Courthouse Square on September 17 from 3-6p.m. Enjoy local DJs, discounts on local restaurants, and family fun.

LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office 7th annual honor ride Aug. 20

The Honor Ride consists of a Police escorted motorcycle Ride throughout LaGrange County. After the ride, there will be lunch, door prizes, and a raffle. The first 150 people get a free t-shirt. The event is on Saturday, Aug. 20, beginning at the LaGrange 4-H fairgrounds. Cost is $25 per bike and $10 for riders.

All proceeds go to The LaGrange County Sheriff ’s Specialty Teams such as K9 Division, Honor Guard, and C.R.T. (Critical Response Team).

Community Impact Grants available

The LaGrange County Community Foundation is now accepting applications to its Community Impact Grants program.

Community Impact Grants are available to nonprofit organizations serving LaGrange County.

Community Impact Grant applications will be due September 1. The Community Foundation seeks proposals for innovative or creative projects with significant impact in LaGrange County.

Nonprofit organizations serving LaGrange County are eligible to apply in six areas: arts & culture, recreation, health and human services, community development, education, and environment. Previous Community Impact Grants have ranged from $5,000 to $25,000 per award.

All applications are due September 1, 2022.

LaGrange County Community Foundation Grant Opportunity

LaGrange County nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for up to $2,500 in assistance in the following categories, but not limited to: Awareness events, Emergency needs, Operations, and Technology (includes software) training/development.

Lilly Endowment Scholarship now open

Class of 2023 don’t miss out on this great opportunity. The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship provides students with full tuition to any Indiana college or university, plus a textbook stipend. To be eligible, students must be a resident of LaGrange County, graduate from a LaGrange County high school, and plan to enroll fulltime in a baccalaureate course of study at an accredited public or private Indiana college or university, and possess a minimum GPA of 3.0.
