County council meets Monday

The LaGrange County Council will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Monday in the LaGrange County Office Building, 114 W. Michigan St., LaGrange.

The agenda includes a strategic plan presentation by LaGrange County Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Phyllis Youga, an update on the 2023 housing strategy by LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation CEO Sherri Johnston and a report on Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative by JDAI Director Randy Merrifield.

The county council meeting follows a LaGrange County Human Resource Committee meeting at 8 a.m. on Monday. Agenda items include the sheriff’s office and highway department.

After the county council meeting, a joint meeting of the LaGrange County Council and LaGrange County Commissioners will be held at 9:15 p.m. to discuss a real estate transaction and potential litigation.

PH set to ratify agreement

Prairie Heights Board of Education will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. in the administration office, 305 S. 1150E, La- Grange.

The board will take public input on the proposed contract between the school district and the Prairie Heights Education Association as part of the board’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Ratification of the agreement is on the board agenda, effective Aug. 1.

Redline building new facility

Redline Equipment – a Case IH equipment dealer with 12 locations in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio that include a facility in Topeka – announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art facility in Logansport.

The new building will be located on 17 acres in the Cass County Agribusiness Park, roughly five miles west of the current Redline facility. Groundbreaking is scheduled to take place in early 2023, with a grand opening slated for the first quarter of 2024.

The new facility will house more than 45,000 square feet of climate-controlled space, allowing for the immediate expansion of service as well as room for future growth. New features include an in-store Equipment Expo, two-story parts warehouse, 12 service bays with two 5-ton underhung cranes, a 50×50 standalone wash bay, and premium space to host customer and training events.

State park use free Nov. 25

On Friday, Nov. 25, admission is free at all Indiana Department of Natural Resources properties.
