Library showing ‘Encanto’ April 22

Following are the activities planned at the LaGrange County Public Library and its branches in Topeka and Shipshewana for the last part of April.

Elementary Book Club, second through fifth grades, Tuesday, April 19 at 4 p.m. at the LaGrange County Public Library. Participants will discuss “The One Hundred Year Old Secret” and do an activity.

Patchwork Trails, Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. at Nasby Dam, CR 300N, east of CR 500E, Howe. This year’s first walk is to an old mill site within Pigeon River Fish and Wildlife Area that harbors many unusual birds, plants and more. The ground may be marshy, so wear appropriate shoes. Patchwork Trails combines exercise, education, friendship, and fun. Each walk will showcase seasonal beauty unique to each property. No fees or registration required.

Movie and Popcorn, for all ages, Friday, April 22 at 6 p.m. at LaGrange County Public Library. Showing: Disney‘s “Encanto.” Rated PG. Free popcorn provided, bring your own covered drink if desired.

Teen Book Chat & Craft, for sixth through 12th grades, Monday, April 25 at 4 p.m at the LaGrange County Public Library. Participants will discuss “Cress” and make something. Limited registration. Register by April 18.

Learn to Tat, Fridays, April 29 through May 13, 3:30-4:40 p.m. at the Shipshewana Branch Library- Tatting is an old-fashioned way of making lace. Learn how to use a tatting shuttle to make beautiful patterns of knotted thread. A different skill is featured at each course. All materials provided. Cost is $5 payable at first class. For ages 14 and up. Register by April 22 by calling 260-463-2841, ext. 1030.
