Recently, the administrators and board at Lakeland School Corporation worked together to set goals for improvement.
The Board of School Trustees has set a goal to improve their communication by being more available to the public they serve. To accomplish this, the board is scheduling a “Listening Tour” as a small group outreach to the public.
They will have stops in each of the districts. The representative for the district and one or two other members will be in attendance at each site. In order to be in compliance with Indiana’s open door laws, the number of members present must be kept under four to avoid a quorum.
Board members had great conversation with the community members that attended the recent Lima-Brighton meeting. They hope to see several more attendees at the next stop.
The second stop of the Listening Tour will be Wolcott-Mills Elementary School in Wolcottville at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 14. District 4 Representative Sue Keenan, District 3 Representative Derrick Sherck and District 5 Representative Jessica Holbrook plan to attend. The meeting will take place in the cafeteria and coffee will be provided.
