In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Lakeland Baseball and Softball teams at Lakeland High School recently organized a food drive to benefit Elijah Safe Haven, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by domestic violence. This initiative not only provided essential food supplies to those in need but also offered a valuable opportunity for young athletes to give back during this season of generosity.
Elijah Haven Crisis Intervention Center, which operates in LaGrange and Steuben Counties, has been recognized for its impactful work in the community. The organization was recently honored with the Nonprofit of the Year Award for 2024 by the LaGrange County Chamber of Commerce. This accolade underscores its commitment to addressing critical issues related to domestic violence and teen dating violence.
