West Noble escaped Brushy Prairie last Tuesday night with a 58-53 overtime triumph over host Prairie Heights in NECC girls basketball action.
The Lady Panthers held the lead (43-41) and the ball late in the fourth period, only to see West Noble knot the count on a steal and layup by Addyson Burns with 1:14 left. Both teams missed chances to break the deadlock over the final minute, thus forcing an extra frame.
West Noble’s Elyse Mead tallied the first six points of overtime, part of a 32-point evening for the talented sophomore. But Prairie Heights fought back to tie the game again at 50-all on the sixth and final triple of the night by junior sharpshooter Bailee Godsey.
Burns came right back to knock down a trey and two free throws to put the Lady Chargers back in front, 55-51 with 39.9 seconds remaining. A pair of charity tosses by freshman Allie Hardy drew Heights back to within two, but two more foul shots from Mead and another by Cloie Ulrey sealed the West Noble win.

Godsey wound up with 21 markers to pace the Lady Panthers. Sophomore Avery Certain was next with eight, while seniors Peyton Gibson and Madison Certain sank seven and six, respectively.
Also getting into the scorebook for Prairie Heights were Hardy with four, freshman Isobel Wolheter, sophomore Baylee Rasler and sophomore Addison Taylor all with two, and senior Jenna Park with one.
