At a meeting of the Town of LaGrange Redevelopment Commission last week, members moved forward with plans to sell their property at the northeast corner of State Road 9 and U.S. 20.
At the meeting, they voted to hire Craig Ralston of RE/MAX Results Angola for the sole purpose of presenting an offer to the RDC for purchasing the real estate.
Redevelopment Commission members said the offer is for a project that would put a Dairy Queen at that property.
The Redevelopment Commission first will open up the property to all offers. Offers must be received at town hall by 3:30 p.m. March 3. On that date at 6 p.m., the town will consider all offers at its meeting.
Offers are required to be in writing, sealed, and must describe who is making the offer, what they intend to do with the property, timeframe to project completion, and price offered.
“We can publish that in the newspaper and see if there are any other people out there who have any great ideas as to what to do with the property,” town attorney Bill Eberhard said. “Or, if we don’t get any other great ideas, we’ll have an offer to purchase I believe at that time from Mr. Ralston.”
