Over the next six weeks, Bowen Center will formally open four new health clinics serving four Northeast Indiana counties.
The addition of Bowen Health Clinics in LaGrange, DeKalb, Noble, and Steuben counties offers patients easy access to primary health care under one roof with mental health care, behavioral health care, addiction recovery treatment, and life skills coaching services. This integrative or multidisciplinary one-stop-shop approach to providing healthcare can make an immediate positive difference in the lives of Northeast Indiana residents.
Understanding that the integrative healthcare model would improve and extend lives, Bowen Center began adding primary care services at its existing locations in 2020. By April 11, all Bowen Center locations will offer primary health care in addition to their mental health services.
“We know people with a mental illness have a lifespan 20 years shorter than someone without a mental illness, so we had to do everything in our power to solve that as soon as we could,” said Dr. Rob Ryan, Bowen Center president and CEO. “And as some health services are starting to leave communities, we are so pleased to be able to step up and fill the gap, especially for underserved populations.”
The new Bowen Health Clinic sites and their ribbon cutting ceremony dates are as follows:
• Angola: March 7, 11:30 a.m., 200 Hoosier Drive
• Albion: March 14, 11:30 a.m., 101 E. Park Drive
• LaGrange: March 21, 11 a.m., 836 N. Detroit Street
• Auburn: April 11, 10 a.m., 923 Cardinal Court
The public is welcome to attend all of these events. Tours will follow each ribbon cutting, along with light refreshments and giveaways.
Bowen Health Clinic welcomes Medicaid, and no one is turned away for an inability to pay. To make an appointment, call (888) 470-0082.
Bowen Health Clinics offer online self-scheduling
In related news, Bowen Health Clinics have unveiled an online self-scheduling option for patients. This new feature provides 24/7 access to a calendar of upcoming available appointments, allowing patients to book their visit on any smartphone, tablet, or computer.
This service was added in a continuing effort to make it as simple as possible for patients to obtain the health care they need.
“Our goal is to make our integrative healthcare services as easily accessible as we can for anyone who needs it,” said Dr. Rob Ryan, Bowen Center President and CEO. “By eliminating barriers to quality healthcare, we are improving and extending Hoosier lives.”
Current and new patients can schedule an appointment by visiting bowencenter.org/schedule appointment to enter appointment details and choose an open time slot. Patients will receive an automated text or email confirming the appointment time and date.
