Orchestra to perform Terrell concert Feb. 25

Larry Garber wants Howard Terrellโ€™s five original symphonies performed by live orchestras. Not because he loves music, but because he loves Terrell. Terrell, 102, a United States Army and Air Force veteran, taught at Howe Military School for 15 years and wrote a large body of music. Public can discuss zoning changes

With a comprehensive plan established last year, the county is again soliciting local opinions. A series of five public meetings concerning the county zoning ordinances will be held on Monday, March 6. Commissioners OK $5.5M in road work

The LaGrange County Commissioners gave a thumbs up to $5.5 million of road work in 2024. Highway Engineer Tharon Morgan said the work will address 6% of the countyโ€™s roads. With work underway this year, the county expects to upgrade 11% of the countyโ€™s roads over a two-year period. Blue Gate noted in new travel book

Barbara Igney

Barbara Jean (Sherck) Igney, 69, was received into her eternal heavenly home Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was born September 27, 1953 to Truman โ€œMaxโ€ and Phyllis Sherck. She grew up in Middlebury and graduated from Northridge High School in 1972. Johnny Patrick

Johnny Allen Patrick, 56, of Howe died on Monday, February 6, 2023. Johnny was born on December 11, 1966, in Angola. Frurip-May Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Shirley Hart

Shirley M. Hart, 90, of LaGrange, died Monday, February 6, 2023, at Millerโ€™s Merry Manor in Garrett. Ms. Hart was born on April 29, 1932, in Elkhartto Harry and Lucille (Jones) Munson. Living for most of her life in LaGrange County, she worked in quality control at Ivers-Lee in Shipshewana. Shirley was a member of the Pretty Prairie United Methodist [โ€ฆ]
